Ways and Means:
- From the ARRL, purchase the $19.00 book entitled
Now You're Talking, and study it.
- Use the practice exams located at
http://www.qrz.com. When you score 90% on them, take the real test.
- Purchase the code tapes from the ARRL and practice receiving code for 20 minutes every day for about 2 weeks.
Costs:
- You must
practice receiving the Morse Code to pass a 5 words per minute code test.
This requirement may soon be removed. The FCC has the item under consideration now.
- You must
study and pass an 35 question multiple-choice test to earn
your license.
- There is a one-time administrative charge of $14.00 for testing materials.
- You must
abide by the FCC Part 97 regulations to keep your license.
